Who is the Boogeyman?
The Boogeyman (also spelled bogeyman, bogieman, or boogie man), is an imaginary monster commonly imagined by children. His shape is often assumed to be humanoid, but his features vary from imagination to imagination. Because of his lack of physical definition, he takes on a different shape for every mind, digging at our deepest fears and dragging them out for us to face.
Parents often scare their children who refuse to sleep by telling them stories about the boogeyman. This seems very counterproductive since the monster would probably scare them into staying awake. The boogeyman has been known to exist in many places, but most popular are under the child's bed or in their closet.
Although hundreds, even thousands of variations of this monster have existed across the course of history, the boogeyman has universally become the embodiment of fear.
